CESA WORKPLACE MEASURES TO TAKE FOR THE BUILT INDUSTRY
Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) has come up with measure that should strictly be adhered to by the built industry. The measures will ensure the industry don’t have problem when performing their duties.
Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) CEO, Chris Campbell said “The built environment sector is one such industry which has been given greater freedom to operate”.
He further said ”As an industry well-acquainted with adhering to health and safety measures, we are confident that built environment professionals will rise to the challenge of doing everything possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19”.
CESA has put together a helpful guide for the safe management of work processes. These will help to assist the industry with best-practice guidelines.
Such guidelines includes;
- Wearing of masks at all times.
- Daily temperature screening.
- Widely available hand sanitiser.
- Twice daily sterilisation of workspaces and common areas (including railing, elevator buttons, door handles etc).
- Strictly only employees onsite (staff cannot bring children to work).
- Meetings limited to four people.
- Staggered lunchbreaks to avoid crowding.
- Two-metre physical distancing at all times.
