Mulanje West Member of Parliament Yusuf Nthenda has urged residents near Muliya Trading Centre to protect the construction materials for a new clinic. This appeal was made during the launch of the K80 million hospital clinic project in his constituency. Nthenda highlighted that theft of construction materials significantly hampers the development of durable infrastructure in the country.

Traditional Authority Juma supported Nthenda’s concerns, noting that not reporting malpractices at construction sites leads to substandard infrastructure. The new clinic aims to provide accessible health services to the local community, who currently have to travel long distances for medical care. The clinic is expected to be completed within 90 days.

Nthenda is known for his development initiatives in his constituency. He has been instrumental in bringing Prophet Bushiri to assist Cyclone Freddy victims and constructing a K120 million bridge, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to development.
