LOW-COST HOUSING COOPERATION PROSPECTS FOR TUNISIA AND CAMEROON

Cameroon sets to progress in it’s low-cost housing sector in partnership with Tunisia.

Tunisia’s Minister of Equipment, Housing and Regional Planning Noureddine Selmi is leading a representative officials and investors of public and private sectors that showed conscience in strengthen Cameroon low-cost housing project. After the discussion between Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute the Prime Minister, Head of Government and the visiting Tunisia Minister a strong agreement was reached on the proposed project.

Cameroon stand to gain more experience from this project as Tunisia has progressed more in the low-cost housing sector with more competence in both private and public sector.

Cameroon’s Minister of Housing and Urban Development Celestine Ketcha Courtes with the Prime Minister agreed on the type of partnership the two countries will use.

The Prime Minister said the Tunisian delegate will visit the already existing low-cost housing project at Olembe at Yaounde to criticize the ongoing work and to enumerate the way forward to make the project a success. They will also visit the highway construction project for the same purpose since the road will be open in the upcoming sport events in Cameroon.

“We will prepare a Memorandum of Understanding that we will submit to the Head of Government who will support us and push forward the cooperation as he said, “Célestine Ketcha Courtès concluded.
