PRESIDENT ABDELAZIZ BOUTEFLIKA RESIGNS IN ALGERIA

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika resigns after 20 years in power. 

The 82 year old leader of the republic of Algeria resigns after weeks of massive protest. According to reports, the leader took this decision after a strong military threat¹. Military Chief Lt Gen Ahmed Gaed Salah spoke to the president compelling him to resign or face a declaration that he is incapable of carrying out national duties. Apparently, the former president had been sick for more than 6 years. Thereby compelling him to reduce His public appearance.
