PRESIDENT EL-SISI INAUGURATES THE FIRST AND ONLY FULLY INTEGRATED FOOD PRODUCTION CITY IN EGYPT

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurates “Silo Foods”, a city for food industries in Sadat City, Menoufia Governorate.

The city contains 10 different factories designed in accordance with the highest international and technological standards to produce 470 tons of various products annually, about 40 products. There are 10 laboratories for various analyses, research and development, the transportation sector and the health movement of products, administrative buildings, a hotel accommodation, staff services and a medical point.

Silo Foods is established by the National Service Products Organisation (NSPO) and produces bakeries, pasta, noodles, wafer and biscuits having a wheat storage capacity of 100 tons.

A main mission of Silo Foods is producing meals for schoolchildren as that is included in the first phase. As for the second phase to be launched in April 2022, it will be about dairy products with a capacity of 4 factories.

President Sisi stated during the inauguration ceremony that the government is working on offering standard meals “presented in a nice way” to schoolchildren.

The President stressed the need to promote family planning in Egypt, a major challenge manifested in the increased population growth, thus resulting in many problems, including urban encroachment on agricultural lands.

Since 2011, the population has reached about 20 million; as a result, prices soared to meet people’s demand.

The President indicated that the aim of opening new factories is to provide products and achieve a balance in terms of prices during crises.
