Service Sales Manager Vacancy At ABB, Algeria

 ABB (ABBN: SIX Swiss Ex) is a pioneering technology leader in power grids, electrification products, industrial automation and robotics and motion, serving customers in utilities, industry and transport & infrastructure globally.

As a Service Sales Manager you will be a part of the Power Grids division and business unit of Grid Automation in Hydra; Algeria. PGGA is responsible for selling products, systems and services for Substation Automation Systems, Utility Communications. The focus is to increase sales in Service and New Business in North Africa, without cannibalizing on existing ABB business. The role requires close cooperation with the local sales organization, as well as the global ABB units supplying systems and products to the same market. The role also requires direct end customer contacts, and EPC´s working in the area. Incumbent should ensure sales targets are met or exceeded and that net margin maximizes profits.


Your main responsibilities in this role will include:

• Identify & drive growth areas (geographical/segment/channels), growth strategies, & market approach
• Sales of products, services and systems within the three system groups including positioning of ABB solutions in the market
• Coordinate activities with the local ABB organization and his/her functional managers, i.e. regional sales manager of PGGA units.
• Influence decisions that have major impact on region’s sales, market share, and financial results.
• Advise customers, including senior management, on ABB’s capabilities, technology and applications for products and systems.
• Work with customers and ABB experts to resolve complex technical and business issues.
• Make country wise plans how to increase business opportunities and coordinate marketing activities including customer workshops and seminars.
• Establish, build and maintain long-term customer relationships to increase market penetration and decrease Company risks.
• Take an active role in business development, for his/her territory.
• Engage in and leverage relationships, both internally and externally, to also promote mutually beneficial partnerships
• Forecast, track, report and manage country wise objectives to ensure results are achieved.


As the ideal candidate, you should have a bachelor’s or master´s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum 5 years’ of experience in service sales with focus in substations/automation/installation and utility communication in utility/power generation segment.

Extrovert person with good communications skills in French, Arabic and English speaking is a must.

Ability to discuss technical solutions with the customer (no specialized in-depth knowledge required) with strong planning skills that exhibit in-depth understanding of company’s technical and commercial strengths and relationships with markets is required.

You should have good negotiation and leadership skills to successfully overcome objections and close sales with an aptitude to proactively identify opportunities and/or eliminate threats of major impact on organization’s sales, objectives and customer relations.

Willing to travel about 50% – 80%.
