WORLD’S FIRST SUSTAINABLE BLUE ECONOMY CONFERENCE IN KENYA
This week, Kenya hosts the first Sustainable Blue Economy Conference. The conference aims at harnessing the potential of Kenya’s water bodies to improve the lives of all citizens.
During the 3-Day Conference, international and national stakeholders deliberate on the blue economy.
Still on the conference, President Uhuru and Canada’s Minister of Fisheries announces that they will be exploring new opportunities for collaboration. Further on, Egypt also announces a US $5.5million grant to support the areas of water management and utilisation.
According to South Africa’s Deputy Director General for Maritime Transport, “Oceans do not deserve the harsh treatment they receive from us”. This is one of the many reasons why the Sustainable Blue Economy Conference is gaining worldwide support.
