CONSTRUCTION OF SIX COURT BUILDINGS KICK-OFF IN TANZANIA
Integrated Justice Centres construction to help Tanzania’s Judiciary system.
Construction has kick-off for six court buildings by the Judiciary of Tanzania. The buildings will be known as Integrated Justice Centres (IJC) and are aimed at helping the nation’s Judiciary system.
According to the design, the buildings will be a one-stop center as it will accommodate all judicial services from the Primary Court level to the Court of Appeal.
It is also reported by local media Tanzania Daily News that the building will be located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Dodoma, Arusha, and Morogoro. That Dar es Salaam will have two buildings while the rest will have one building erected in those locations.
The IJC will contain the Primary Court, the District Court, the Resident Magistrates’ Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Dr. Augustine Mahiga while speaking during the inspection of the building congratulated the Judiciary on the speedy construction of court buildings in various parts of the country.
A committee has been formed that will move around the country to help check the progress of the various court building. This is after a parliamentary timetable was released recently.
