TANZANIA PRESIDENT ANNOUNCED CONTRIBUTION OF TZS100MILLION FOR ARUSHA CHURCH CONSTRUCTION

President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s contribution of 100 million Tanzanian shillings towards the construction of St Karoli Lwanga parish church in Usa River demonstrates her commitment to fostering reconciliation, unity, and national cohesion. Representing the President, Arusha Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda emphasized the importance of the contribution in promoting unity and solidarity among the residents of Arusha.

In addition to the President’s donation, Mr. Makonda personally contributed 10 million shillings towards the project. He prayed for blessings upon the residents of Arusha, emphasizing the importance of productivity, safety, and spiritual guidance in their lives.

The St Karoli Lwanga parish, established in 1975, has seen a significant increase in its congregation over the years. To accommodate the growing number of worshippers, the parish embarked on the construction of a larger church with a capacity of 2,500 worshippers. The project, initiated in 2010, has an estimated cost of 2.7 billion shillings.

President Samia’s generous contribution towards this project underscores her dedication to supporting community development initiatives and promoting religious harmony. It also reflects her vision for a united and prosperous Tanzania where all citizens can thrive.
