GHANA’s BONGO DISTRICT ASSEMBLY AWARD CONTRACT ON FIVE PROJECTS
Bongo District Assembly, located in the eastern region of Ghana has awarded contract for five projects. The projects which is worth US$334k (GH¢1,943,000) will be used for the provision of mechanised boreholes, renovation of teachers quarters, construction of nurses’ quarters and a Community-based Health Planning Services [CHPS] compound.
The project is under the government’s 1-million US Dollar per Constituency initiative. These initiative is to cater for the basic needs of the poor like toilets, drainages, dams for all year round farming, community water, footbridges, community town centres, reshaping roads, renovation of schools, provision of desks to schools, and many more according to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia statement.
District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga said the assembly would not countenance poor work from any contractor. While also stressed that they would monitor to ensure that value for money was ensured.
