SA CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY URGE TO PRACTICE SAFETY MEASURES
After the resumption of construction activities in South Africa, experts has calls for safety measure to be practice all the time.
The appeal was made by the nation Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia de Lille as the nation move to level 3 of the lockdown regulation.
According to De Lille, “We can, however, together overcome and rebuild the construction industry, retain and create more jobs to get the economy growing. That the construction industry is crucial to South Africa’s economic growth as it contributes significantly to the development and to South Africa’s GDP”.
The construction industry in the nation have suffered due to the covid-19 with some contractor suffering the most during this period.
She further said “As companies have staff returning to work, I would like to wish all workers well and especially ask company owners and management to ensure that the resumption of work is done in a careful and responsible manner by ensuring that workers are properly protected and that companies comply with the alert level 3 regulations.”
She called on the industry to ensure that they continue to keep safe and minimise the spread of the virus.
