TANZANIA PRESIDENT SET TO INAUGURATE TAZARA FLYOVER
President Magufuli set to commission the Tazara Flyover which has reduce traffic congestion in the city.
Tanzania President John Magufuli is set to inaugurate the Tazara flyover. This project has been of immense importance to the people as it has reduce the traffic congestion on the road.
The President will commission the project after 12 days of the overpass has been in operation. Meanwhile, the US$45 million (about Sh100 billion) facility will be launch tomorrow. The project began in October 2016
Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Paul Makonda said “We call on Dar es Salaam residents to be at the Tazara junction as early as 8:00 AM. He also said so that they can witness the launch of the historic infrastructure project in Tanzania’s history.”
Meanwhile, last month Prime Minister Kassimu Majaliwa did a tour on the site. He said during the site tour that the current government’s plans was to construct seven other flyovers in the city. He said they are planning on using rapid transit buses which will reduce traffic congestion.
During the construction of the Tazara flyover, enough space will be provided when the Dart project kick-off. Japan government funded the Tazara flyover project through its Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica).
