CHINA AND ETHIOPIA TO LAUNCH SATELLITE

Delegates from Ethiopia inspects a satellite under development in China.
As part of plans for Ethiopia to launch satellite, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inspects a 70kg Multi-Spectral Remote Sensing Satellite ETRSS-1 under development in China. In fact, the satellite is currently under development in partnership with China Academy of Space Technology. The project is getting support from the Chinese government, and will monitor weather patterns for better agricultural planning, drought early warning and forestry management.
The Ethiopian Space Science and Tech Institute plans to launch the satellite before end of 2019. Therefore, as Ethiopia to launch satellite, it will help boost economic activities.
