The torrential rainfall and whirlwind that occurred during a lecture session at Obafemi Awolowo University resulted in the ceiling of the Amphitheatre in Oduduwa Hall collapsing, causing injuries to some students.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire and other university officials ensured that the injured students received prompt medical attention, with some being taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex for further treatment.
The university’s Public Relations Officer announced that the affected area, the amphitheater, has been sealed off until further notice.
