JICA NEGOTIATING DEAL WITH ELECTRICITY MINISTRY TO LAUNCH NEW PROGRAM IN EGYPT
JICA is in talks with Egypt Ministry of Electricity to launch two new programmes.
Energy is an important aspect when it comes to infrastructural development. This is why the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA is in talks with Egypt Electricity Ministry to launch two programs.
The talks were announced by JICA representative to Egypt’s Yoshifum Omura during a seminar last week. Meanwhile, the aim of the seminar is to promote energy efficiency and conservation in Egypt.
According to Yoshifum, the launch will be in two phases with one of the project seen as a loan cooperation while the other is a technical cooperation scheme. JICA aims to focus on financing electricity projects that will meet the huge demand for electricity supply.
JICA said it will also approve funds as a loan extension for Abo El Reesh Japanese Hospital in March. The Agency views the health sector as one of the highly prioritized sector for social and economy development in Egypt.
The Agency signed an agreement with Abo El Reesh Japanese Hospital to build a new outpatient facility in 2016. The deal will improve the quality of service provided by the Hospital.
