BOSTWANA NWDC SAY MAINTENANCE OF SCHOOL TO BE COMPLETED SOON
North West District Council (NWDC) in Botswana hopes to complete maintenance of 79 primary school soon. The announced was made by Deputy council chairperson, Mr Lekonne Masoko.
According to Masoko, “The project entails construction of new ablution facilities, maintenance of toilets, procurement of 10 000 litre water tanks and stands.”
Masoko said US$1.8m (P22m) had been disbursed to the district and that each sub district was awarded US$410k (P5m) to commence with the project.
He also noted that procurement of water tanks had been completed and that the base construction for the tanks was ongoing. That the procurement of sanitisers, soaps, toilet paper and masks was complete.
Meanwhile, NWDC secretary, Motlogelwa Thuso said construction of new toilets was anticipated to be complete by August. That they had also dislodged pit latrines to bring them into a good state for pupils to use when experiencing water shortage.
A total fund of US$3.6m (P45m) will be used to complete the maintenance of all schools.
