The construction of Thiba Dam is peaking up pace after Kenya’s Presidential Delivery Unit team visited the project.
The visit to the site is part of plans to find-out details of the project that was put to halt last year by the contractor Strabag after they suspend the work due to a default in payment by the Kenyan central government.

In January this year, Kenya government approved US$6m to help revive the construction of the dam.
The construction of the Thiba Dam is being financed in partnership with Japanese Government through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). When fully complete, the Dam will be 40m tall and 1km long and is expected to have a holding capacity of 15 million cubic meters.
