HOW OVER 200 HOUSES WITH CONNNECTED TO TOGO TINGA FUND PROJECT
The Tinga Fund’s progress in expanding grid connections in Togo is notable, with over 20,000 connections achieved in 2023, representing about half of the project’s target for the year. The Ministry of Economy and Finance’s report indicates that these connections primarily benefited regions such as Savanes, Kara, and Plateaux, contributing to significant increases in electrification rates in those areas.
Minister of Energy Mila AziablĂ© emphasized the positive impact of the project, highlighting how electrification rates in the Savanes, Kara, and Plateaux regions saw considerable growth between 2022 and 2023. The Tinga Fund’s recent expansion into the Central and Maritime regions further extends its reach, aiming to provide electrical connections to more households and individuals across Togo.
The initiative offers an affordable option for underprivileged Togolese to access electricity, with a monthly fee of CFA1000 over a period ranging from 4 to 10 years. By making electricity more accessible, the Tinga Fund contributes to improving the quality of life and economic opportunities for communities across Togo.
