Individuals has began to protest over the ‘construction mafia’ been faced in local communities by pushing for a transformation agenda in South Africa. Their motives is to be part of a supply chain from which they have traditionally been excluded.
Such individuals want not only employment, but also to do business with those that own the industrial plants, construction projects and shopping malls in their community.
Local Communities need to be engaged as partners as it will help South Africa to grow an inclusive economy where the rural and peri-urban areas must be a priority on the development agenda.
