KENYA THIKA BYPASS ROAD CONSTRUCTION SET TO KICK-OFF
Thika bypass road construction set to kick-off which will help ease traffic along Garissa highway in kenya.
The construction of the bypass road project is to link it to the four road project at Garissa highway. The road project which is worth Sh1.5 billion is a 2.1km that stretch from Engen to Kiganjo junction.
According to Engineer Earnest Ruto, ”We guarantee that the tarmac laid will last more than 20 years. He further said contractor will embark on Broadway-Athena link road, BAT-Kiganjo link road and Kivulini-Kiganjo link road”.
Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina said “This will help ease traffic along Garissa road and open up Kiganjo, Kiang’ombe, Kiandutu and Athena to investors. He said that the bypass will also reduce the time taken to drive to Nairobi to 25 minutes. It will also make Thika an ideal residential area for those who work in Nairobi”.
West deputy county commissioner of Thika, Tom Anjere has asked investors to take advantage of the ongoing road expansion works. He said that they should take advantage and setup affordable residential apartments to help meet the government’s housing agenda.
The road project once completed, will provide a means for motorist not to enter the town but instead use the road. The road will link Nairobi from Garissa and individual coming from the neighboring places.
