ALGERIA MINISTER RECIEVED HARBOR ENERGY CEO OVER ENERGY PARTNERSHIP

The meeting between Minister Mohamed Arkab and Director General Linda Cook from Harbor Energy underscores the mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and investment in Algeria’s energy sector.

During the meeting, Both parties discussed opportunities for cooperation and investment in Algeria’s energy sector, particularly focusing on hydrocarbon prospecting, exploitation, and the development of natural gas fields. This cooperation aims to enhance Algeria’s energy capabilities and contribute to its presence in global markets, including the African market.

The importance of exchanging experiences, transferring technology, and sharing know-how between Sonatrach and Harbor Energy was emphasized. The establishment of mutually beneficial partnerships, both within Algeria and abroad, was also highlighted as part of Sonatrach’s strategy to strengthen its global presence.

Meanwhile, the meeting also explored significant investment opportunities in Algeria’s oil and gas industries. Additionally, discussions revolved around environmental considerations, such as reducing gas emissions, implementing carbon capture and storage initiatives, and reducing the carbon footprint. This reflects a commitment to sustainable practices within the energy sector.

Ms. Cook during the meeting expressed Harbor Energy’s keen interest in Algeria’s energy sector and expressed a desire to define concrete projects in hydrocarbons in Algeria. The favorable investment climate in Algeria was noted as conducive to pursuing such projects.
