Egypt and Kenya to strengthen coordination after talk held between both nations.
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi held talks with Delegates from Kenya over relationship coordination. The Kenyan delegates led by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Monica Juma talked about promoting relations between the two countries.
Monica Juma during the meeting praised the success of the last AU summit in Addis Ababa as Egypt’s President led the leadership of the union. Meanwhile, the meeting tackled other regional issues, including the latest developments in the Horn of Africa. They also discussed methods to boost cooperation, combat terrorism and extremism in Africa.
In December 2018, Egypt announced funds worth EGP 100 million which will be for empowering people with special needs. The announcement was made in statement released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The statement noted that “10.67% of persons aged five years and older have disabilities ranging from minor difficulties to complete disability. While 2.61% of Egyptians, aged five years and older, have severe disabilities.
Kenyan delegates saw the opportunity to have the meet after Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi spoke of this plan during the African Union summit in Addis Ababa.
