QUESTWORKS RECEIVE FUNDS FOR SOLAR-BASED CONSTRUCTION IN KENYA
Questwork receives Sh120 million from SunFunder for solar based construction in Kenya.
A united state based firm has set up fund for Questwork to construct a solar facility. The fund which is Sh120 million will help boost its pipeline of commercial and industrial solar projects. It is also see the increase of demand for green energy in the nation.
SunFunder which is the US based firm has awarded questwork with the Special Projects Delivery Award. The facility will also help reduce the demand for debt financing from end users. It will add solar to offset grid power and backup diesel generation which will be use by universities, offices etc.
Questworks Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer, Tim Kipchumba said “We are very happy to have secured this SunFunder support. He said that it will enable us to execute on our growing solar pipeline. He also said it will enable kenyan economy to thrive due to the reduce cost of energy.”
The end user’s will also be able to cut costs and contribute to a greener economy. Meanwhile it will also improve the reliability of their energy supply and make individuals living in the area feel relax and happy.
SunFunder Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Audrey Desiderato said “During our due diligence we were highly impressed by Questworks’ in-house technical team. She also said their diversity of skills make them a one-stop shop for end users and real estate developers wanting to build solar PV systems.”
Questworks is among Nairobi’s earliest renewable energy engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies. They have a significant track record.
