ORASCOM-LED JV WINS EGYPT WATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT
Orascom to partner with Arab contractors under a 50:50 joint venture (JV) for the construction of the project.
Orascom construction has won Egypt water treatment plant project worth US$739million. The contract is for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the plant.
The firm will work in partnership with Arab contractors under a 50:50 joint venture (JV) for the project. It will be the largest treatment plant in Egypt after construction.
CEO of Orascom Construction, Osama Bishai said ”We are proud of our involvement in the biggest water treatment plant in Egypt.”

Orascom has also secured an operation and maintenance (O&M) deal for five years. Meanwhile, the facility will have a capacity of five million m3 per day and will treat water for irrigation purpose.
According to Bishai ”The latest project not only reflect their leading position in the water and O&M field. But also in the infrastructure sector as a whole.”
Orascom and Arab contractors will operate and maintain the upcoming facility for the next five years.
