MOROCCO SETS UP ECONOMIC ZONE TO BOOST COOPERATION WITH CHINA
Morocco seeks to build strong economic relationship with China.
An economic zone has been set up in the Moroccan northern city, Fez. The economic zone is aimed at building bilateral relationship and cooperation between industries in Morocco and China.
Fes-Meknes Regional Investment Center have signed a deal with China Industrial Cooperation Association, aimed at establishing an economic zone in Morocco that attracts Chinese firms to invest in fields like automobile, aviation, agriculture, health and renewable energy.
This bilateral cooperation seems to be growing since the strategic partnership was initiated during a visit of the Moroccan king to China in May 2016.
Morocco have witnessed an increasing number of Chinese investments, especially in the areas of infrastructure construction and industrialization.
In June 2016, Morocco granted Chinese citizens visa-free entry to the North African kingdom.
