NAIROBI EXPRESSWAY PROJECT IS MAKING GOOD PROGRESS DESPITE THE PANDEMIC
The Nairobi Expressway is on course to becoming a reality as key project milestones continue to be achieved. On completion, the Expressway will slash commuting time between Westlands and the JKIA from around 2 hours at peak time to just 15 minutes.
The 27.1KM Expressway will enhance Nairobi’s competitiveness as regional hub by decongesting CBD and Northern transport corridor. It’ll have 10 interchanges: Mlolongo, SGR, JKIA, Eastern & Western bypasses, Capital Center, Haile Selassie, Museum Hill, Westlands and James Gichuru.
Expressway has created over 2000 jobs for Kenyans, provided markets for locally manufactured goods and services and encouraged transfer of valuable technical skills. It will also boost the economy through reduced time lost on traffic and attendant cheaper transport costs
