High voltage power line under construction in Uganda
Uganda Government is constructing a high voltage power line in Karuma. The 60 kilometres High Voltage Power Line will connect Karuma Power Station to Olwiyo, Nwoya District. It will have an onward transmission to other area in the nation. Such areas include; Pakwach, Nebbi, Paidha, Arua, Koboko, Yumbe and Moyo.
High voltage power lines are under construction to evacuate power from Karuma.

The aim of the project is to help increase the number of power generated by the nation. It will also help support Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station when it comes online. The power station aim to generate 600 MW after completion which will make it the largest power-generating installation in the country.
