FLOOD GAVE WORKERS QUIT NOTICE IN SOUTHERN NIGERIA
Old secretariat complex at Asaba, Delta State was flooded and it prevented workers from entering their offices
On Wednesday flood prevented Delta state civil servants from entering their offices at the old secretariat complex that is located on summit Road Asaba.
Newsmen reports that the flood occurred due to the Tuesday night’s downpour in the area.
At the entrance of the secretariat complex, workers gathered with their cars parked on the Summit Road as flood took over the area.
At 9p.m, the heavy rain started and was accompanied with thunder. There was havoc on the Okpanam Road under construction because of the rain.
Junior Staff Quarters Road, Direct Labour Road and Jesus Saves Road were not spared as flood took over them, hindering driving and trekking. Flooded gullies and drains caused some motorists to abandon their cars after their vehicles plunged into them.
The state Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa had said that his administration would partner with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) to tackle flooding.
