GHANA PRESIDENT VISIT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT ADENTAN MUNICIPALITY
President Nana Akufo-Addo commission projects at Adentan municipality in Ghana
Ghana President visit is part of plans to commission projects at Adentan muncipality. According to reports, the 51 million Ghana cedis road project is a Ministry of Roads and Highways project. It will be executed through the Ministry’s implementing agency – the Department of Urban Roads.
The aim of the road is to help improve mobility, safety and travel time within the Greater Accra Region. As it currently has a projected Average Daily Traffic of about thirty thousand (30,000) vehicles.
Meanwhile, before the construction, the road was a two-lane single carriageway at the onset of construction. As the surface condition was poor with numerous potholes that increased travel time and inconvenienced many road users. It also had a poor drainage system which contributed to the rapid deterioration of the road.
However, the new construction which is now a four-lane dual carriageway will help increase capacity. While the drainage situation has also been improved with the construction of several culverts and concrete U-drains. The project was completed six (6) months ahead of schedule.
