The Prime Minister of Madagascar Oliver Mahafaly resigned on Monday according to the court ruling. The court order is to a new consensus Government to end a political crisis on the Indian Ocean island nation.
An election law has been approved by President Hery Rajaonarimampianina which allows the opposition candidate Marc Ravalomanana to take part in election. Therefore, this action lead to a serious riot in the streets.
The High Constitutional Court ordered Rajaonarimampianina to dissolve his government and appoint a new prime minister with the support of all political parties.
Hence, Mahafaly accepted the decision of the court as not to obsequy the solution they offered. Mahafaly handed his resignation letter without constraint.
