TANZANIA PRESIDENT UNHAPPY WITH SINGIDA PROJECT DELAY
President John Magufuli fumes over delay of Singida project.
Tanzania President John Magufuli is unhappy with the delay of the Singida project. The project which will help generate over 100 MW has been on delay due to expert recommendation.
The President has said that he does not want the project to be on hold anymore. He also said that he doesn’t agree with reasons for the delay of the project by the contractors.
The comment was made during the laying foundation stone ceremony for the construction of the bridge. This Bridge will link both regions in Singida and Simiyu.
Minister for Works, Transport and Communications, Isaac Kamwelwe said ”Regular rains in the area cause the project to pause regularly. He also said that it will resume after four months.”
The remark by the Minister for work did not please the President as he want more work. He was on a nine day tour of infrastructure in the country.
