TANZANIA TAEC LAB CONSTRUCTION ALMOST READY

Tanzania new high tech lab nearing completion.

The construction of the high tech lab which kick-off in 2015 will have its first phase nearing completion in Tanzania. The project which is aim at helping the country reach its target of having an atomic energy use worldwide.

Director of Nuclear Technology at the Arusha-based institution said Firmin Banzi, said “Up to 70 to 80% of the civil works are ready. He also highlight that the instruments testing would be done here. He also said the Tanzania government will meet 100% of the construction costs estimated at 7 million Euros.”

Taec Head of Research and Development Abel Nitwa said the country will agree with the legal and security framework. The framework is on uranium mining and handling of radioactive materials.

The project will also serve neighbouring nation like Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia. The project will help these nations have and also control their various uranium produce.

The new lab will be located close to the central radioactive waste management, a highly reinforced store room out of bound for the public. The new building will keep all radiology equipment testing and maintenance after completion.
