WATER ENTERPRISE PROJECT IN TANZANIA GETS US$1.7m
Tanzania releases fund to tackle water shortage
The Tanzanian Ministry of Finance and Planning has released US$1.7m o the Ministry of Water and Irrigation for a water enterprise, which involves drilling and construction of boreholes in areas of the country that are mostly affected by water shortage.
This fund was released in response to queries raised by members of parliament concerning steps taken by the government to deal with water shortage in the country.
Also in response to the queries raised the Deputy Minister for Water and Irrigation, Mr. Jumaa Aweso, said the Government intends to improve water access in urban and rural areas through its Water Sector Development Program, which involves investing in infrastructures and rehabilitating already existing ones to cover a wider population.
Already the government have completed three(3) projects which covers Ilkirevi, Oleigeruno and Nduruma villages, also six other projects are at different levels of implementation and they are in Bwawani, Likamba, Ngaramtoni, Oloitushula, Nengung’u and Loovilukuny.
