AREPO ESTATE BEGINS ROAD CONSTRUCTION AFTER NEGLECTING STATE GOVERNMENT
Residents of Arepo Estate begin plans to fix road after government failure in ogun state.
Arepo estate has ignore the state government and has kick-off the construction of a road project. The Estate members has been waiting for the state Government for six years to build the road. After a brief meeting, the resident decide to fund the construction of 1.2km access road in the area themselves.
The Estate has a good settlement and a magnificent structure in the town but due to the poor road, individual has decide to relocate. Meanwhile the town is home to most Journalists but the poor road is devaluing the area. It is also affecting the quality of life for most people as a plot of land cost N15 million.
The Resident came up with a ‘Yes, we can fix our road’ initiative which has seen speed growth. They said we are prepare to rescue their estate after long demand for the government to fix the road.
President of Arepo Central Community Development Association (ACCDA), Mr. Kehinde Adeyemo said “The move was made possible due to the state government failure. He said that they fail to keep their promise.”
The road was awarded to First August construction firm in November 2012 under Contract 11. It also has a signpost which has been untouched at the Journalist Estate Phase 1 gate.
