CONSTRUCTION OF 10,000 AFFORDABLE HOUSES KICK-OFF IN KENYA

Kenya government set to construct 10,000 affordable house as part of its big four goal for the nation.

Construction of the affordable house is part of the country Big Four-goal. The goal is to provide 500,000 homes in five years for resident in the  nation. Meanwhile 300 acres has been set aside for the construction of 10,000 affordable houses in Tatu City.

The construction of the project is part of Tatu city’s 5,000 acre development. It will also include a mix of residential estates, office parks, industrial zone, schools and hospitals. The project is to cost between Sh1.5 million and Sh5 million and will likely begin in 12 months.

Country Head of Randeavour, Nick Langford said “The cost does not provide the developer with any return (especially at the lower end of the price). He also said it will de-risk the project and satisfies the need for Kenyans to own homes.”

Endeavour is already looking and engaging with investors that will invest in the affordable project. It will also see the master plan, Business plan and Feasibility plan developed during the phase.

The construction of the 10,000 house will be home to over 40,000 people who will need amenities and good infrastructure.
