NEW BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION TO HELP RESIDENT IN MUKURU SLUMS
Mukuru slums excited about the construction of a new bridge in Kenya
A project that will benefit the masses is always a welcome development. This can be witness with the construction of a new bridge in Mukuru slums, East part of Nairobi.
Residents living in Mukuru has endure so many pain especially children whose schools is located after the bridge. For a long time, this resident has been using makeshift foot bridge which has endanger so many lives. With at least a record of 20 people having slipped into the Ngong River while cross the wooden bridge.
The temporary bridge was built ten years ago after slum residents raise money for its construction.
The latest development is an initiative from Landi Mawe MCA Herman Azangu Kaimosi and the Nairobi County Government. With a construction cost of Sh2.5 million that will connect Nairobi South B, to Enterprise Road.
These construction will help residents as most of them were using the bridge linking Mukuru-Mariguini and Mukuru -Commercial slum to enter Nairobi’s Industrial Area.
