NIGERIA GOVERNMENT APPROVED LOANS FOR PORT-HARCOURT-MAIDUGURI RAILWAY PROJECT
Nigeria Government gives approval for negotiation of railway loan for port-harcourt-Maiduguri project.
The Port-harcourt-Maiduguri project which will link both state is in a negotiation stage after the President approves the loan deal. The loan deal which is worth US $15bn is for the completion of the rail project. The approval is for the both parties to start looking for funds to undertake the project. The latest project will help revamp all transportation network across the nation.
According to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi said ”the Lagos-Calabar rail project is yet to start because of funds. He also said that the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail project is yet to start because of funds.”
The Minister also talk about Itakpe-Warri rail project said that the project is under reconstruction and hope it will be finish in august. The minister also assured that there will adequate security to guarantee safety of passengers aboard rail transportation.
The project is expected to provide a lot of job opportunities to Nigerians and also make the nation a great tourism area.
