UNRA CLOSE NTUNGAMO-KABALE HIGHWAY DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL
The Ntungamo-Kabale Highway has been closed after rain fell on it which resulted in the destruction of crops as well as other items around the area. These prompted Uganda National Road Authority (UNRA) to close the area.
According to reports, the rain trigger mudslide that have blocked several roads. Such area includes, Rubaya, Maziba, Kaharo and Kamuganguzi Sub counties.

Meanwhile, in some area, gardens as well as homes where submerged in water with resident living near old maziba hydropower dam been affected the most.
In a media briefing by UNRA, the spokesman said, “The failure is as a result of the current torrential rains leading to the landslide in the area. Our Maintenance team in Kabale has closed off one lane to traffic and has commenced mobilization of materials to reinstate the failed embankment and restore traffic flow.
