BRIDGE COLLAPSED LEAVES ROAD CLOSED IN KENYA
A section of a bridge that collapsed at Siyabei area, next to Maasai Mara Technical Institute, following heavy rainfall has seen a road been blocked. The Narok-Maai Mahiu road was blocked after the incident.
Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) who block the road has assured resident of urgent restoration works of the road. They also asked motorists to use alternative routes according to Assistant Director, Corporate Communications, Charles Njogu.
Narok-Maai Mahiu road connects Nairobi to Narok, Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Bomet, Kisii, Luo Nyanza and Tanzania. Meanwhile, the meteorological department has warned heavy rains will continue in many parts of the country, causing flooding.
The latest road block is now becoming a series of events after motorists complained of Thika Superhighway closure by KeNHA.
